Accessibility Statement
Version 1.1 — September 2026
1. Our Commitment
We want the IFECASA STEAM platform to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We haven't yet been independently audited against those guidelines, so we don't claim full compliance — this statement sets out honestly what is in place today and what isn't.
2. Accessibility Settings
Every page has an accessibility button in the top toolbar (the person icon). Signed-in learners can also find the same settings under Profile → Accessibility. Your choices apply straight away, are remembered in your browser and, when you're signed in, are saved to your account so they follow you to other devices.
- Text size — enlarge text from 100% up to 150%
- Colour filters — adjust the colours of the page for colour-vision differences (red–green: protanopia or deuteranopia; blue–yellow: tritanopia), or switch on a high-contrast filter
- Dyslexia-friendly font — switches text to Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for legibility, with wider letter, word and line spacing
- Focus reading — makes body text heavier and adds extra word and line spacing for easier reading
- Reset — returns everything to the defaults
3. Navigating the Platform
- Skip to main content — the first thing you reach with the keyboard is a link that skips straight past the navigation
- Keyboard use — menus, dialogs, forms and buttons are built from components designed to be used with a keyboard, and show a visible outline when they have keyboard focus
- Structure — pages use headings and page regions so they can be navigated with assistive technology
4. Known Limitations
We know about the following and are working on them:
- Video and audio — captions and transcripts are not yet available for video or audio content
- Documents — some older documents and PDFs may not be fully accessible to screen readers
- Images — not every image yet has a written description
- Third-party pages — pages provided by other companies, such as the Stripe payment page, follow their own accessibility standards
- No independent audit yet — we haven't yet had the platform tested by an independent accessibility specialist
If any of these stops you using something, contact us and we'll help you get the information another way.
5. Feedback
If you find an accessibility barrier, or need information in a different format:
- Email: community@IFECASA.org (subject: "Accessibility Feedback")
- We aim to respond within 5 working days
6. Changes to This Statement
We'll update this statement as we add features or fix the limitations above.
If you have any questions about this accessibility statement, please contact us at community@IFECASA.org or write to #23 Ferrier Circular, Guayaguayare Village, Trinidad W.I.
